Felicity's bed...a lucky find!

While on a visit to my favorite consignment shop, Through the Garden Gate Antiques, I found in one of the consignment booths, Felicity's bed. It had been marked down to $65 and I cannot tell you how surprised I was to see it there. So I brought it home. It is is in near perfect, mint condition- all its linens, curtains, ties, all intact.

I decided to go ahead and take some great pictures of it with my Bespaq pieces so you could see it in a diorama setting. It looks so REAL ! Felicity is pleased as punch and so is Gracie, my camera loving bjd.

The bed by itself.

Felicity loves her room even if it is a temporary setup for now. My Bespaq pieces look wonderful with it. It will be so nice to get the new doll room set up which is in the process and the shelves built so I can have these pieces displayed.

Gracie looks wonderful beside it, I know Tonner dolls would look fabulous, especially the Anne de Leger and the Pirates of the Caribean dolls dressed in 18th century dress.
Enjoy- this makes me want to start sewing Felicity and Gracie more dresses....

The Dolls' Christmas....

*Note: The dolls had a great Christmas, as did I. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and will have a Happy New Year. Enjoy the pictures, and thank you for the interest in my blog and the dolls' adventures here at the 'Patch. ~Lisa

Gracie got ALOT of presents....really I think sometimes I spoil that doll! But she has worked so hard on the blog. And everyone deserves their own sock monkey and Bubble Cut Barbie, right?

And then there is the magic of Christmas, and the tree....

Not many presents this year, for me, but squee! I did get Kit's stove this year. The dolls' kitchen is well on its way to getting together. Kit was certainly pleased!

Kit's American Girl stove is really an awesome piece. I had a great grandmother who had one of these, but it wasn't blue. The frying pans, wooden spoon are from a $1 packet from the dollar store. The spatterware red coffee pot is from an antique store, as is the blender. The cheese grater is from World Market. The 'pie' in the oven is actually one of those $1 candles from Michaels with the wick pulled out. The pancake mixes in the colander are from a dollar bag of doll food from Michael's, the colander I picked up at a gift shop somewhere. The table and chairs are from Molly's collection I purchased a few months later. I have so wanted this piece and bought it on sale, it was my present from hubby Chris. :)
I hope to post more pics soon after the holidays, enjoy!

Christmas in Felicity's parlor....

Hi everyone, it's me Gracie, finally catching up and blogging again. It's great to be here & Dixie pointed out that she did the last blog, so I needed to catch up. hmph! But here it goes. Felicity has decorated the parlor, and we have a seperate spot for the tea table & the tea cabinet. Miss Lisa finally got us a proper tree, and all kinds of surprises are already wrapped.

Yep, and I have a new musical instrument for Christmas as well- I think it's an oboe or a clarinet. I have enjoyed sitting about tooting it! If you'd like to see a video of Felicity's parlor, here it is, uploaded on YouTube channel- KingWilliamMinis is our channel name!

Merry Christmas! More to come later!

Dollar Tree Sundae lip balms...

Just a few quick pics of Gracie (she got a new soccer uniform and wants to show it off- Ebay find of Hopscotch Hill from American Girl, retired) and her lip balm sundaes from the Dollar Tree. I have long browsed the Dollar stores for the soda can lip balms, ice cream lip balms, (the Wolverine fridge in the pic is full of them!) I found these at the Dollar Tree, but I imagine they would also be in Family Dollar, Dollar General, and so on. chair and table are from American Girl from the historical Molly collection.

The dolls outside in the evening....

What do dolls do, you ask, in the evening? Here Dottie and Gracie are lounging...yes, dolls Lounge, outside, on the grass, on antique linens and just ...dream, talk, and laugh. At least here at the Patch on Pumpkin Hill they do, and look at the clouds in the sky. I chose this spot in our yard as the weather, evening light, everything was perfect for this photo shoot, and it looks quite timeless, like they have found a secluded spot with their baskets, their book and fan, and are enjoying each other's company. Things I like to do myself, when I have time too. I have always been intrigued by timeless paintings of women in white from the late 1890's by the great painters like Monet where women lounged, rested, fanned themselves and did not seem to suffer from the day to day high tech drudgery of today. lol...
To dream in tranquility and peace, ah, heaven.......Enjoy the pics!
