Slipper Sybarite with extras on Ebay

I am parting with my Slipper Sybarite on eBay and she comes with extras.

Her  Listing is  HERE

Slipper comes with her case , which has scuffs and scratches from the previous owner who carried her home from Paris in it. It is in good condition except for the scratches and has been stored in the closet of my doll room. She also comes with her little shoebox for her shoes, which have the unusual feature of opening like a compact. She has never been undressed out of her bustier or outfit. She also comes with her pink bow for her head, as well as her stand.

BONUS- The Bespaq vanity stool in mahogany finish which I used to display her on in my doll room.

Slipper has loose joints which make it difficult for her to stand. I received her this way, in my opinion she needs restringing, like most of the older Sybarites do. Bespaq no longer make these items and I was the main dealer for these larger scale pieces, they are no longer in stock. Stool measures 7 1/2 inches high by 5 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches deep.

She is on a buy it now for $750 or best offer. I will entertain reasonable offers. Thank you for browsing my listings.

I have also lowered the prices on some of the other W Club exclusives - so shop my other items!

Felicity's bed...a lucky find!

While on a visit to my favorite consignment shop, Through the Garden Gate Antiques, I found in one of the consignment booths, Felicity's bed. It had been marked down to $65 and I cannot tell you how surprised I was to see it there. So I brought it home. It is is in near perfect, mint condition- all its linens, curtains, ties, all intact.

I decided to go ahead and take some great pictures of it with my Bespaq pieces so you could see it in a diorama setting. It looks so REAL ! Felicity is pleased as punch and so is Gracie, my camera loving bjd.

The bed by itself.

Felicity loves her room even if it is a temporary setup for now. My Bespaq pieces look wonderful with it. It will be so nice to get the new doll room set up which is in the process and the shelves built so I can have these pieces displayed.

Gracie looks wonderful beside it, I know Tonner dolls would look fabulous, especially the Anne de Leger and the Pirates of the Caribean dolls dressed in 18th century dress.
Enjoy- this makes me want to start sewing Felicity and Gracie more dresses....

Annabelle's new wig and other goodies...

Annabelle got her new wig and some other goodies as well this weekend.

The wig is a strawberry blonde versus a honey blonde like it was described and the curls are very all over the place but it makes her endearing. I thought it would match the color in her previous wig that she came with, which is a much fairer blonde and more closely matches the drawings of Annabelle in the book A is for Annabelle by Tasha Tudor but it does not. But I do like it and think it makes her adorable looking.

The croquet mallets with their matching balls are perfect and from Byer's choice off of Ebay. Alot of Byer's choice items , in their accessories are scaled to fit 12 inch or 15 inch french fashion dolls, you just have to pay careful attention to the measurements. I have lusted after the carriage but do not think this would work for her as the carriage is not tall enough, though it is a wonderful prop for her to stand outside of.  I will be getting another pattern to make her croquet outfit with and I know exactly what fabric I will be using, just need to find the correct hat.

The Gildebrief pattern books I ordered also arrived, and so I am all set to make her simple dresses, especially the one for fall. Annabelle needs a nice fall dress to go walking about the park and having picnics in, as well as going to apple harvests and pumpkin festivals.

These two magazines have a 2 part article series called " 1 governess and 6 cousins at a picnic" where some ladies used one pattern with different variations of sleeves, belts, pleats and shawls, coats, etc to give a simple dress different looks. I think the plaid dress is just adorable and I have a plaid challis that will be perfect for her fall outfit. So looks like I have some sewing to do!

Felicity's parlor....

I am beginning to re-vamp the design of this blog and give it a more pleasing template that is more restful on the eye. I have been working on a number of projects for the dolls- both the American Girls and more recently, sewing for the Silkstone Barbies and my Fashion Royalty dolls. I have recently downloaded a ton of Liberty Jane clothing patterns and I can hardly wait to work on the prairie dress bundle that was such a generous giveaway. The jean skirt that showed how to upcycle old clothing as well as the Tshirt pattern are on my to do list for Rebecca and Kit. (Felicity loves the 18th century, I cannot drag her out of her period, lol)

Here are some older photos from a few years back of Felicity's parlor I set up in my shop when I was gathering her collection just before she was retired. My Felicity was purchased on Ebay and is a Pleasant Company.

The table and chairs in this photo are from Felicity's retired collection. The fireplace and curio are Bespaq, no longer manufactured and what I used to sell in my shop King William Miniatures & Collectibles when it was open in 2009 to 2011. Regretfully, we had to close as overhead and operating costs were too much for a doll and dollhouse shop. These pieces are still in my collection; I hope to do some more scenes with them soon.

One reason I love this furniture so much is it fits in with the furniture found in many colonial mansions in Williamsburg, Va where Felicity was from. Her tea set resides in this cabinet.

The portraits in frames, the wreaths, and silver chocolate pot , candlesticks and toile plate on the wall are all from the Williamsburg souvenir shops. The wreaths are actually napkin rings! They have such a Williamsburg look to them. One of my goals this year is to start sewing on a more regular basis, and make Felicity more clothing, I love the styles of the 18th century. I have sewn in 1:6 scale in this period, but never in American Girl doll scale.

I will also be adding more of the AG blogs I am following to the sidebar here, so hope you follow back!~Lisa

Annabelle continued....

Annabelle , my French fashion reproduction doll hasn't received alot of love lately. So today I decided to experiment with photos in attempting to continue a project put to the side a year or so ago- recreating a story with a doll telling the story about her magical doll world with photos instead of illustrations. My inspiration was A is for Annabelle a story using illustrations of a doll and her accessories by Tasha Tudor.

I wanted to expand more on this theme. Haven't you ever wondered when you were a child if the dolls continued playing after you left the room and had to go to school or out? I did...continually. I would as a child set up tea parties with my dolls for them to enjoy while I was away at the drudgery of school and rush home eagerly, hoping to catch them where they were not as I had left them. I imagined all sorts of fun the dolls had while I was away at school during the day, and liked to write my own stories about what the dolls did sometimes. I suppose that is where the attention to detail came from, and if one item was out of place, I convinced myself they had all sorts of fun while I wasn't there. I still like to think of this sometimes, and it fits into my storyline I am attempting.
Here are some more test photos, hope you like them.
