1:3 scale Bedroom project...

Well, I have decided to make Gracie a bedroom, that will reside on myd resser. Yesterday the Samantha american girl brass bed I purchased on ebay was delivered, and it was in better shape than anticipated. Only one final on the footboard is missing, which I can replace. Ever since I have staged her with the Bespaq hat vanity, the larger one, I have wanted to create a bedroom which I know she will be safe. The bed looks truly awesome with the Bespaq in this scale. I have found some wallpaper at Lowe's that I might have to order, but am still deciding on what colors to put into her quilt. I created the mattress and pillows today. Enjoy the pictures! Bed measures about 12 inches wide, 19 inches long. You can also watch my Flicker album (par4_lisa) and my webshots album for more pictures -

I took pics of Gracie with her Easter bonnet, basket and bunny w/ carrots. Getting ready for the Easter Bunny!

More snow.in the Pumpkin Patch, Gracie's New sleigh..

Here in Virginia they have been calling for more snow, and snow, snow, snow it did. bleh. I hate & despise snow, but Gracie was all excited about the falling snow and wanted to try out her new sleigh. Since they were callling for ice, and wet rain, I couldn't keep the shop open today, so on for home and picture taking we went...

Here she is in the front playing with her new sleigh. (It's an ornament from Michael's I picked up on sale) When these pics were taken, it was falling quite thick, it is hard to see it in the photos.

Gracie decided today I be the one to blog...so here is her adventure in the snow..

Gracie: Oohmph...who would've though walking in snow would have been so hard? And no decent hill to slide down!

......and this snow is so light and feathery, I can't even slide! This isn't any fun at all!

Me(behind the camera): Smile Gracie! Hey, what's the

matter?

Gracie: well, you see, it's very hard to slide down a hill in this feather light snow. It isn't sticky...

Me: Don't worry, it soon will be. That's why we have to take your pics now. It's gonig to be real wet soon!

Gracie: Really? Can I slide then?

Me: I doubt it-- it will be really slick and icey then..

Gracie: Well, I don't know about that..you mean it will keep snowing like this, all day?

Me: (sigh) yes, all day.

Gracie: You don't like snow- do you?

Me: (grin) indeed not. I hate being cooped up in the house, makes me antsy.

Gracie: Is that why you will sew-- when it snows?

Me: Yep, or when pigs fly, whichever comes first!

Gracie: You're too funny. Well, should we go in? I'd like some hot chocalote!

Me: Me, too. You were thinking just what I was thinking. Are you going to put this on the blog??

Gracie: who me?? I thought I had the day off- it did snow, after all.

Me: Hmmph. See if I let you out to play in the snow again...

And so that was all for here at the Pumpkin Patch for Gracie's 'snow day'. She has been working rather hard with me at the shop, sending notes & letters out to the rest of the dollies, notifying them of new arrivals who will be living here, and most of all, taking care of the drama of the fashionistas in the Maison de la Royale dollhouse- or the The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse -http://theonesixthscaledollhouse.blogspot.com

Happy snow days to everyone!

Gracie blogs about the snow....

..Well, keeping track of this blog for all of these dolls and Miss Lisa is no picnic, I can tell you. Then she found me on Facebook & I got my administrative duties curtailed, you might say...well, as a doll I have to have down time also...and playing Bejeweled Blitz and Farmville is just a relief stresser, I tell you.

In the meantime, I decided to use Lisa's computer while we were stranded here at the house. So boring...it started snowing on Friday evening, and did not stop until Saturday evening. Miss Lisa was antsy, as she usually is, and when she is bored...all the dollies need to watch out...she decides to 'organize' us, or worse-- SEW! lol. But this time she didn't do any of those things and was mostly surfing looking at a new companion for me...yes, she still wants Lanie the American Girl, but she also wants an SD bjd, and was even looking at those HUGE ones- that are 70 and 80 cm tall!

One thing I did during all of this was to sit back ontop of the silkstone barbie boxes near Lisa's desk is kick off my sneaks and play with my etch-a-sketch. This is my new school uniform that came on the slow boat from China...(or so Miss Lisa says...lol) I dread when she starts making me go to school...I already have this blog to tend to...how much can I do with homework also?Geez, I'm only a doll!
I've also been told to keep on the lookout for the new 1/6 scale W club fashionista that is coming to live with us- as if we need another Agnes! Controlling that party crowd in the Maison de la Royale dollhouse is wild I tell you...and now we have another one coming to live there! They had so much fun for Christmas I can't get them to take their Christmas tree down...what is a dolly administrator to do? I have complained to the doll owner in charge, but she indulges them...oh well...hopefully there will be another one sixth scale dollhouse photostory coming soon!
Yesterday Lisa's other half dug out the driveway...what a job. I know why she hates snow now...But it didn't effect Pumpkin Hill's many black cats- Henry watched from his window perch near the desk...where he sleeps. Here is a picture of Henry the indoor tyrant. He pretty much knows who is boss..Me...and leaves me alone.
Well, that is all for dolly blogging today here at the Pumpkin Patch...check our King William Miniatures blog- Miss Lisa is cleaning house at the shop and is getting ready for a show!

My doll wish list...interview with Gracie..

Photobucket

Ok, Miss Lisa are you ready?
Me: What???
Gracie: You remember....I am doing your blog here on the Pumpkin Patch, and you wanted to do your updates on the wishlist for the dolls that need to come here and live with us!
Me: (sheepishly) ok...
Gracie clears her throat, slight pause....

Photobucket You know, we can always do this another time...I can finish my coffee here. I'm having fun surfing on the web looking for dolls that need to come and live with us.
Me: You have??
Gracie: Sure..like that neat girl you like so much- the new Girl of the Year from American Girl , Lanie. She is cute! She's alot taller than me, but I think we could really have fun.
Me: Gracie, that is great of you. Alot of ones like you don't like American Girl dolls...
Gracie: (sounding insulted) Like me?? you mean because I'm a bjd?? Well I never...
Me: laughing- hopefully you won't ever have to!
Gracie : hmmph...drinks coffee...well, let's get on with it...I haven't got all day... grumble grumble
Me: I think I would like a Puki Puki Sugar next...
Gracie typing..Pukipuki sugar next...ok-
Me: And a lovely new SD from Souldoll, and of course Lanie from AmericanGirl, I love her features and hair....
Gracie typing fast...SD Souldoll (which one??) and Lanie..hmph...
Me: I also want a LittleFee!!
Gracie : That's a new one! Would they live in the dollhouse??
Me; Yes, maybe so. But I want a Lati also- they are so very very adorable...I love the tinies!
Gracie: Me too...say, don't we have some fashionistas coming too- like that rude Agnes?
Me: Rude??
Gracie: YES! Rude, but she is really the nicer of the bunch that live in that Maison Royale.
Me: Explain about the 1:6 scale crowd...oh dear...
Gracie: At night I like to play Bejeweled Blitz on facebook- and they won't shut up about their hair & their clothes! How those kellies get any sleep is beyond me! One big model slumber party!
Me: laughing now...Well, they do like to party and have the wardrobe for it...
Gracie: The Poppys are the nicest ones, and that nice Barbie girl that models the wingchairs. Your larger fashion dolls are ok also, they just like to lounge about in their cocktail gowns on the furniture...
Me: Er, well that's nice to know...
Gracie: Any other wish lists?? Madame Alexander, more American Girls, more Barbies??
Me: Of course- always room for more barbies!Say- you might need another outfit...
Gracie what for?
Me: The Barbie club is having a get-together and I thought you would go with me...You haven't tried on your school uniform yet either that came on the slow boat from China...
Gracie...It's here? When do I get a schooldesk?
Me: well, you've got one right now...
Gracie: Hmpph.........

And that here is the end of the interview. Gracie decided to finish formating her blog entry, and I decided to think about all the neat dolls I'd like to have come live in the pumpkin Patch!

Gracie starts the blog...

Hi My name is Gracie.... and yeah that's me. I belong to the group of dolls and stuffies at the Pumpkin Patch. Miss Lisa suggested I get a laptop and start monitoring the Pumpkin Patch's blog....so I said okey dokey...

Yeah, this is my new laptop. It's originally supposed to be my new friend Lanie's laptop, but Miss Lisa said I needed one now to blog with, and answer my email.

So I guess i better get started here....I like the dragonfly on my new laptop. Well, I am originally from Korea, from a place where they make Souldolls, and Miss Lisa said I was her Christmas present. Isn't that cool? To know that I was so wanted makes me feel at home here at the Pumpkin Patch on Pumpkin Hill.....I haven't met everyone yet, but I have been assured that there will be lots more dolls who will be living with us..I hope so. I really love to read and write, so I think that is why Miss Lisa calls me the 'scholarly' one...so she put me in charge of the blog. I have my own desk and everything!
I suppose I will have more to blog about later, but for now, I need to schedule a bunch of appointments with the other dolls to find out what they want to say about themselves.
See ya soon!~ Gracie

Introducing Grace..Soulkid Katie A. bjd...

Well, she arrived on December 17, 2009 at about 2pm in the afternoon via UPS. I could hardly wait to get home to open her box, but sadly, couldn't play with her much as I had to go out for that evening. Next morning I purchased some clothing made for the 18 inch BKC Ink dolls you see at walmart, it fit her great, was cheap, and now my poor doll wasn't nekkid anymore. lol.

For a long time, I knew I wanted a bjd, but never really got it as to why some people were so obsessed or into the hobby so heavily...but when I opened her box, I knew. She has such a peaceful and serene look on her face sculpt. Surprisingly, I had thought I would just keep the name Katie, but looking at her out of the box, I knew she needed another name. In fact, she made it quite clear her name was 'Grace', she liked to read, and also liked horses, and would I please get her some suitable clothing? It was cold here. She was very happy to discover we lived near Williamsburg, as she preferred 18th century dress/fashions to modern dress, but would graciously humor me if I wished her to wear 'that modern' stuff....Talk about opinionated dolls!

Saturday it snowed, and snowed, and snowed until I thought there was nothing but white stuff that would float from the sky forever. (Did I make mention of the fact I hate the cold and snow?? Typical southerner...lol.) Since I was cooped up in the house, I took out the april 2008 arcadia haute doll pattern I had had enlarged, and started working on her dress. With a little modification to the skirt, it came out looking like I wished, and not bad for a first try, if I do say so myself....
I have some pics here of the finished gown, which is in two pieces. The bodice laces up the back with pink ribbon and the skirt ties with ribbon sashes also. I used white muslin, sheer eyelet and the picot tassel trim on the bodice- I have some more I think I will add to the skirt's hem. I restyled her wig to have her hair pulled back so it doesn't look like she just rolled out of the box..lol. I need to make a little bonnet, or headdress or hair ornament for this dress, and add some jewelry to complete that Trianon look I was going for. I still have to make her stocking s and her panteletts, and maybe a petticoat also. I will probably have her shoes made to match by one of the bjd shoe people who make such great shoes..
all for now-
~Lisa
