Scottish Lassies Purse collection

The Scottish Lassies collection is near completion. I need to have  time to sit down and start working on more tote bags and I am waiting on another scottish terrier dog to arrive so I can do two sets- with the purse, tote and dog coat, dog leash with leather collar and handle. This has really been fun to work on. These items will go on sale in my Etsy store Pumpkin Hill Studios when I have more of the purses and tote bags completed. My scottie plaid material is limited, so I will know more on edition sizes when I have all the material made up.
Prices will begin for complete set- purse, tote, and dog leash, collar, and coat $75, small purse with magnetic closures and tassels, lined, braided leather handles,- $25
Tote bag- snap closure, braided leather handles, -$20
The dog accessories I do not have enough to sell by themselves as a set yet. I would like to offer the dog with the set as the collar and leash and coat are made to fit this resin Scottish terrier. So right now these two will be offered with the complete set of purse and tote bag. When I have more dogs, I can make this as a set by itself without the purse and tote bag.

Introducing Hitty Darling...

I have been neglecting this blog, which I regret. So much has been going on in my over busy schedule, which is winding down now. October was so busy I was unable to do more than take the pics of the dolls as they arrived. Sadly, some of my 'quirkier' dolls such as my tiny bjd brownies and Hitty Darling have been very neglected.
I purchased this Hitty over a year and half ago, perhaps 2 years ago. She came unfinished and I did her faceup and stained her limbs. I was actually going for a look of the real Hitty. Lately I have been connecting with other people on Flicker and getting active in the yahoo flicker group Hittygirls to 'get to know my Hitty better, you might say.
I broke down the other evening and made her a simple dress of gingham, and stole an apron off of my Kirsten mini American Girl doll, and she is beginning to look like she looks as though she is settling in after sitting in the dollhouse.

Hopefully she will be having some adventures and more picture time coming soon....Enjoy the photos!~Lisa

Hogwarts' classroom in 1:6 scale...

I have long neglected my Pumpkin HIll blog and am sorry for that...so am hoping this will satisfy that haunted and spooky season of Halloween that we are all looking forward to in the doll and dollhouse miniature world. There is no more fun season to do than Halloween other than Christmas in dioramas and dollhouses!
I recently acquired a doll I noticed on Ebay that looked like Hermoine from the Harry Potter movies and it was indeed an 8 inch articulated doll in the Gryffindor colors and school uniform. Mattel made these dolls back in 2001, there is also a Harry Potter one. I have never seen a Ron Weasley. But it makes for a fantastic 1:6 scale beginnings of a diorama of the magic classrooms. I have long been inspired by such collectors of magical miniatures such as Sally Wallace and her Hogwarts castle by Rik Pierce and haunted and spooky miniatures by Ericka Van Horn of EV Miniatures . Sally originally had her site called Sal's Site where she also has her ministry of Magic roombox and the Weasley home done in miniature as well.
I hope you visit these sites and are asl inspired as I have been. Enjoy the pictures of Hermoine, her owl and Elphaba who has stepped in for Professor McGonnall.

Hermoine was made by mattel and the little owl I had stays with her hand as it has a magnet for a wand, which did not come with her. The owl was made by a miniature artisan in the UK. her elbows and knees are articulated and a little handle on her back moves her wand arm up and down, I really love her size and her body. I can hardly wait to scoop up Harry- the possibilities are endless. The little desks came off of Ebay and I made all of the leather and snakeskin books and the dead plants. Enjoy!

Finch Express office...

I am finally back home and am sharing with you some photos I have meant to take but had time to do the scene. This little aged greenhouse from Hallmark I created about 8? years ago, when Hallmark sold these little greenhouse structures in their stores. I took one and aged it into a witches greenhouse but when my Felix Brownie and my Realpuki bjd's came along, it now has become my little Wren & Marigold's Finch Express office. Here Wren has her pumpkin briefcase, her mailbox that is an in/out box - a pumpkin of course, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin blotter for her desk and so on. All of these items were made by Tori West of MiniMotion, wonderful artist in paperclay.
I did all of the exterior and interior stonework and made all of the books and the book easel, a friend made the potion cabinet which Wren uses when she needs a potion to make the mail travel faster and pixie dust won't work! I am also working on the pumpkin house for her and Marigold, it is coming along slowly.
On this structure, I aged it completely with paints, and also used transparency and glass paints with liquid lead to create the stained glass effect on the windows. Enjoy the pictures!

Pumpkin House progress..what I'm working on...

I am currently working on Wren's little pumpkin House, and have been sketching and figuring out how I wish this to look. So I've started with a circular floor, made of paperclay.

The floor will look like a stone floor in the pumpkin house, and be round. This will be the place where Finch Express is located, and where Wren and Marigold take care of all the mail for the dolls in the Pumpkin patch at Pumpkin Hill. So I was thinking of a cross between a Tudor cottage with vines, thatch roof, timbers, crumbling stone but with full size shrubs/flowers about as it is a fairy house dwelling. Perhaps a lookout finch, or little finches with baskets on their sides strapped carrying rolls of mail and packages to the inhabitants of Pumpkin Hill. As well as mice mail carriers.
I am working on one of the birds, and he is coming along nicely. He is going to be made of paperclay as well as the floor and exposed stonework on the pumpkin house.

I was especially surprised at how well his features came out in the paperclay. His feet will be made of wire. Hopefully big enough for one of the mice postal workers to ride on his back.
On another note, Wren has been sewing rose petals for a new dress for herself.

I am hoping to bring home a companion Realpuki from Denver Doll soon for Wren, she is very lonely and has been telling me about a friend she wishes to come and live with her. Also, she has become demanding of late and said she needs a pair of wings.
Back to the drawing board to see if I can keep up with the ideas I need to create!
